Maintaining Health

Welcome

What is Microcurrent Therapy?

Microcurrent Therapy is pain-free and uses extremely small amounts of electrical currents to relieve pain and heal soft tissue in the body. Microcurrents, or microamps, are low intensity electric currents produced at low frequencies that match the body's normal pulse rate, like those naturally occurring when the body repairs damaged tissues at the cellular level. During Microcurrent Therapy, water-moistened electrodes or gel is placed on the skin and is used to conduct the electrical current. By applying electrical currents that mimic the body's natural electrical activity, microcurrent therapy facilitates, stimulates and enhances the healing process of soft tissues as well as increases circulation and decreases inflammation.

Benefits of Microcurrent Therapy

  • Helps speed the healing process
  • Reduces swelling and inflammation
  • Masks acute and chronic pain
  • Release muscle trigger points
  • Improves soft tissue regeneration
  • Helps return the body's electrical current to a normal activity level
  • Improves circulation, protein and nutrient use, and cell metabolism
  • Improves the release of endorphins

Treatment

The number of treatments is dependent on the type, severity and duration of the injury along with the patient's age, general health, and lifestyle.
